HOW TO: SKIN PREP

FOR YOUR UPCOMING MAKEUP APPOINTMENT

Beautiful makeup always starts with a well nourished base to work with! No matter what primers or foundations are used, you can't beat well cared for skin to ensure the smoothest makeup application.

Please arrive at your appointment with a clean face and your normal skin care applied that morning. It is important to look after your skin leading up to your booking by cleansing and moisturising daily.

  • A light exfoliation the night prior to your booking is recommended to smooth your skins surface, helping the way the makeup sits on your skin and wears throughout the day. Please use a physical exfoliant such as a gritty cleanser or a mitt, and not a chemical exfoliant such as a peel, as these can react with primers and foundations.

  • If you are getting a spray tan done, please avoid tan on the face or at least minimal if possible, as fake tan can create dry patches and effect the way the makeup sits on your skin. If you do have a lot of fake tan on your face prior to your appointment, a light exfoliation the night before your appointment will help to remove some of the tan and smooth any dry patches for optimal makeup application.

  • If you are having your brows or face waxed, I highly recommend doing so at least 3 days prior to your appointment as this can cause the makeup to not stick to those areas properly. I also suggest avoiding having a lash lift prior to your appointment as this will cause false eyelashes to lift off.

HAIR PREP

If you are also having your hair styled by Jessica Marie, please have your hair washed the night before and blow dried as straight and smooth as possible. Please do not use any products or heat styling tools on your hair.

I look forward to seeing you soon!
